The WHNA was founded in 1998 and incorporated in January 1999. Now with 140 members and growing, the WHNA has become a strong voice for Watsessing Heights in Bloomfield.

The WHNA has fostered the creation of the Watsessing Park Conservancy, Inc. (WPC) to partner with Essex County in improving the appearance, upkeep and amenities of our historic Watsessing Park.

We have obtained federally funded community development block grants to enhance the building facades and streetscapes in our neighborhood.

The WHNA encourages the residential adaptive reuse of abandonded industrial buildings, and opposes uses that adversely affect our neighborhood.

Our input was recognized in Bloomfield Township's 2002 Master Plan.
